Square Enix x Panasonic collab

Panasonic announced on September 10 that it will release the gaming neck speaker “SC-GN01” jointly developed with Square Enix’s “Final Fantasy XIV” team on October 22nd. Equipped with four speakers, it aims to be comfortable to wear without worrying about the weight while reproducing the surround sound as if it were in the game world. At the open price, the actual selling price is around 22,000 yen.

Under the supervision of the sound team of “FF XIV” from the prototype stage, we aimed to create the optimum sound for the game.

Two speakers in the front and two speakers in the back are placed so as to surround the neck. It is said that the position and movement of objects are reproduced with four speakers to reproduce a three-dimensional and deep surround environment. 2ch stereo sound signal is also up-converted to 4ch.

“RPG mode” that allows you to enjoy the feeling of being in the game world, “FPS mode” that allows you to obtain accurate sound localization and make it easy to hear footsteps, and “Voice” that makes it easy to hear human voices and immerse yourself in the scenario. “Mode” and three modes are prepared according to the game genre.

In order to minimize the delay, the connection adopts a wired connection with a USB cable. The cable length is 3m.

The size is about 240 (width) x 46 (depth) x 209 (height) mm, and the weight is about 244 g (excluding cable and USB terminal).

A collaboration model of the main body and package designed exclusively for “FF XIV” will be released later.
